After our 6 hour walking tour of NYC (see Visions of New York, Day 1, Part 1), we took the subway back to the hotel where we showered, changed & headed back out (thankfully rejuvenated) for some sweet decadence at Serendipity III.
For those of you who haven’t heard of Serendipity, just take a look at this…
and this…
Oh chocolate-y goodness…where have you been all my life?
This, dear readers, is what they call “Frozen Hot Chocolate.” I came to New York knowing that I would be experiencing this guilty pleasure. Friends told me about this dessert years ago, so I knew it was just a matter of time before we, too, could experience the decadence. My husband and I shared one…but truth be told…I could have downed the whole thing right then & there. Mmmmmmmmm…
After putting back on all the calories we took off during the 6 hour tour, we decided to run up the stairs to the top of Rockefeller Center…just kidding! We took the elevator & enjoyed the “Top of the Rock” tourist attraction. Once the elevator doors opened, we were greeted with this view…
and this one…
Not to mention this one…
Views like this are worth the $20 per person
we paid for the elevator ride up!
After our rooftop photo shoot, we exited the building and wandered around taking photos along the way.
It was a fun way to end our first day in New York. I couldn’t wait for the adventures awaiting us on day 2…but first…sleep! 🙂
I’ve never heard of Frozen Hot Chocolate…it sounds magnificent!! How have I missed this before?! Next time I’m in NYC I’ll seek it out!!
You’ll love it! And Serendipity is such a unique restaurant with a menu full of sweet delights! I wish I was there now! 🙂
oh my – I have to back to NYC just to go get that wicked chocolate thing!
Yes, you must go back quickly!!! If you’re a chocoholic, this is the dessert for you!!! 🙂
